After graduating from Nottingham Trent with a first class degree in ‘Design for Film and Television’, Carly won the prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prize to attend The National Film and Television School for Production Design. Her graduation film, 'For the Love of God' (dir. Joe Tucker), was the only British film in official competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
Since then she has worked with a talented array of award winning directors in France, Italy, Germany, Norway and Morocco, and been production designer on three features: ‘The Face of an Angel’ dir. Michael Winterbottom, ‘Hello Carter’ dir. Anthony Wilcox and ‘Damascus Cover’ dir. Daniel Berk.
She has also designed the Norwegian TV series ‘Aber Bergen’ (and was nominated for best production design at the Norwegian Baftas or ‘Gullruten’ TV awards), the EA Sports video game ‘Need For Speed 2015’, and many commercials and short films which have played at film festivals around the world. She recently won a Cannes Lion for Production Design for 'John Malkovich's Journey' commercial short film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial.
Earlier in her career, Carly worked on big budget studio feature films as art director and draughtsperson, including Hugo, Cloud Atlas, Bond: Quantum of Solace, Hanna, Harry Brown, The Young Victoria and Green Zone.
Carly has enthusiasm and passion for film and design and considers her job to be a visual storyteller. She is based in London.
